With vegan clothes, makeup, shoes, and even baby food, animal rights activists, more so celebrities, are coming up with solutions to their grievances. Going vegan has pretty much become a trend nowadays, with many celebrities coming out as vegans.
With the likes of Kim Kardashian and her perfect waistline, it's almost impossible for fans not to join in on her diet. Whether it's for health reasons or ethics, these celebrities are standing out as proud and outspoken vegetarians.
ALICIA SILVERSTONE
The Clueless star is popular for her condemnation of animal fur which she claims is obtained through cruelty to animals. For Alicia Silverstone, going vegan is more than just a diet; she has been an outspoken advocate for veganism for years on end. She credits her 8-year old son's good behavior to his diet.
Her decision to feed her child a vegan diet was met with controversial views given that it might deprive a child of some essential nutrients. She, however, silenced the talks saying that her child, Bear enjoys the food. However far she decides to go, she is about to inspire generations of vegetarians.
ELLEN DEGENERES
Ellen has been a vocal petitioner in the anti-meat movement since 2008, making constant appeals to meat-eaters to transition to a plant-based diet. Being a devoted animal rights activist, it was only fair that she also walks the talk through her diet, which she did until she didn't.
Things went amiss for the celebrity activist when her cravings got the best of her, and she started eating fish and eggs. She said her eggs come from the chicken she knows, like from someone's backyard or if they're happy, for the fish though, it's still a bit murky.
ARIANA GRANDE
The superstar musician attributes her choice of a vegan diet to her undying love for animals and healthy life. Her vegetarianism has met its fair share of controversy, earlier this year, she appeared on a Cloud Macchiato ad for Starbucks.
The funny thing was that Ariana posted it on her Instagram with a caption saying that there’s a vegetarian option for the milk and eggs-based drinks. A Starbucks barista got tired of people asking for the vegetarian option and lashed out on twitter, discrediting Ariana's claim. Despite all the controversy, she's still an outspoken vegetarian.
BELLAMY YOUNG
What started as an animal activism affair for Bellamy Young turned out to be her wisest health decision. She stopped eating meat in college when a piece of chicken breast she was served reminded her of her mother's dog. Her diet is the source of her radiant looks and gorgeousness. Adopting a plant-based diet got rid of her cystic acne, led to better digestion, and boosted her energy.
CASEY AFFLECK
Unlike his brother, who's only rumored to be vegan, the actor made a firm stand speaking out against any animal products on his plate. Casey doesn’t beat around the bush when asked about the reason for his diet. The filthy and cramped conditions animals live in coupled with the cruel and prolonged deaths they suffer was enough reason for Casey to quit eating meat.
His boldness in his fight was best portrayed in his PETA Public Service Announcement that was rejected for airplay by TV stations forcing him to tone it down. His truth must have been too much for mainstream media.
LIAM HEMSWORTH
He was crowned as PETA's sexiest vegan in 2006. With a vegan wife by his side, Liam and Miley Cyrus were a super vegan couple. They had more than 15 animals living with them, making them devoted animal parents. Their wedding was nothing short of their lifestyle from their clothes to the food.
Miley wore an ivory silk satin gown by Vivienne Westwood with Cult of Coquette satin shoes, a vegan brand. Despite their divorce, the two have not neglected their animals, which they are still sharing and caring for.
JOAQUIN PHOENIX
The iconic actor recently starred in the film Joker and received an award at the Toronto International Film Festival for his performance. Phoenix has been a vegan since he was three, and in his honest opinion, eating meat is very barbaric.

DAWN RICHARD
Her fit and curvy body is a clear indicator of the benefits of being a vegetarian. The musician and former member of Danity Kane went vegan after her father was diagnosed with cancer making her realize the health benefits of being vegan.
In 2015 she posed naked for a PETA ad and was in the same year named PETA's spokesperson. She continues to spearhead campaigns with PETA by appearing in ads and advocating for the humane treatment of animals and a meatless diet.
JENNIFER GARNER
The 47-year-old looks pretty fit and fabulous, and it's all thanks to her diet. The actress and mother of three grows her own spices at home and teaches her kids to take care of them.
Jennifer Garner is the co-founder and chief brand officer of Once Upon a Farm based in California through which she has managed to get kids to choose veggies over meat with her baby food brand.
